​I (Bridie) am an artist, spider and layabout living in Glasgow - currently interested in textiles, writing, mapping, and making zines that respond to place-relationships.

I like to imagine places as time corridors inhabited by medieval peasants, birds, and insects; and in my work attempt to visualise these imagined connections, linking them to each other and ourselves in the present now. I view art as a tool for seeing & imagining and am particularly interested in its potential for cultivating empathetic relationships with non-human life - critical at this time of mass-species extinction and biodiversity loss.

To borrow my favourite quote from Patricia Goldblatt on the matter of art-making; ‘Insights facilitated through art connect previously unrelated elements, catalyzing new knowing as a shock of recognition: "a self not consciously known"’.
